As a Sustained Engineering QA Specialist, you are responsible for verifying and testing code-fixes for released products and handle customer service issues that the tech-support staff cannot handle on their own.  This role is also responsible for continued engineering and providing technical support following release of products e.g. bug fixes, enhancements, etc..


  • Investigate current support issues in the released software versions to determine whether the issue at hand is a product defect or just being used in a way that was not as intended.
  • If a defect is found, you should be logging the defect in best possible manner that describes the defects and design shortcomings with necessary repro steps and clear and precise language.
  • You should be able to work with Customers on live meetings as well as using other communication methods such as email, or other chat technologies.
  • You should also be able to work with Developers to articulate the issues at hand or to determine how a component and function should be verified and tested once a defect has been fixed.
  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts as needed
  • Manually perform system testing from beginning to end of the software development lifecycle including acceptance, end-to-end, regression, integration, functional and non-functional testing.
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products.
  • Monitor debugging process results.
  • Build content that can be used to upskill others in QA patterns and practices in line with K2 Apps as needed
  • If you are put in a team lead/release lead position, either cloud or on prem you will be responsible for managing the release Bill of Materials as well as communicating progress to the Coordinator and VP Sustained Engineering. Once the release is ready make sure to manage the accompanied documents and communications to the Release Manager


  • Working knowledge of developing and executing test plans
  • Ability to write test code in an object-oriented language such as C#, or Java
  • Ability to be flexible and work interchangeably with various Microsoft platforms which include server-based web applications, data silo integration, etc.

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in quality assurance and testing methodologies
  • Deep understanding of the software development and QA life cycle processes (including test planning, test case design, execution, bug tracking and reporting)
  • Experienced in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Product / industry specific experience preferred
  • SQL server / other related database experience preferred.
  • MS Development technologies:  C# is preferred.
