K2 Releases New Updates, Continues to Empower Customers to Digitally Transform Their Business Processes

BELLEVUE, Wash. – Sept. 22, 2016 – K2 Software today announced new capabilities for K2 Mobile, K2 management, K2 Rest Service and Microsoft SharePoint 2016. These updates are available both on- premises via blackpearl 4.7 and in the cloud via Appit.

K2 delivers value for customers with business process application management efficiency gains of over $750,000 for a composite organization based on customer interviews according to a recent commissioned Total Economic Impact™ (TEI) study conducted by Forrester Consulting. Using K2 blackpearl as its enterprise business process application standard, the organization consolidated and centralized its business processes onto a single, holistic tool, improving its efficiency in supporting, managing, optimizing and troubleshooting its business process-oriented applications. Here's how K2’s latest release delivers value for customers:

K2 Mobile

K2 continues to increase investments in its mobile platform. New features for K2 Mobile for iOS help customers remain productive while on the go with the following new enhancements:

  • Barcode controls enable organizations to digitally transform their business processes by leveraging K2 Mobile. For example, customers can scan a UPC or SKU to prepopulate information on a K2 form, making it easy to capture data for inventory management, asset tracking or incident management.
  • Image annotation lets users mark up and add notes to images and attach them to forms for further explanation when using the K2 Mobile App, thus improving the quality of information shared and ultimately speeding up resolutions. 

Proactive diagnosis before deploying SmartForms and views

K2 improves Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) by providing proactive, real-time impact analysis on changes made to SmartForms and views during the design stage, all without any architectural changes or coding. ALM provides visual indicators to inform you that you are missing required data fields, controls, control properties and rules. Notifications provide the option to keep or remove dependencies as you see fit. ALM also analyzes dependencies on check-in, and allows for correction or cloning to avoid errors in deployment.  

K2 Management

K2 Management offers a centralized, intuitive user interface for configuring and managing of an organization’s K2-based applications. Administrators can centrally manage all the workflows, methods, user rights, security, roles, worklists, authorization settings and more. K2 Management also allows administrators the ability to view, run and test SmartObjects quickly and easily, as well as identify process errors and repair those errors with ease. Lastly, administrators can manage their users’ ongoing tasks and schedule workflow processes. 

K2 REST Service now available for blackpearl

 A short time ago we shared updates for Appit, including support for REST. The new K2 REST broker with Swagger support makes integration with net new or legacy systems easy. Microsoft SharePoint 2016

K2 now supports SharePoint 2016 and adds key enhancements to performance, forms rules, modern SharePoint lists and registering web applications, which dramatically simplify the application registration and activation management for the K2 app.
