K2 blackpearl™ software was named Best Product in the “SharePoint Development” category by Penton Media’s
Windows IT Pro® and
SQL Server Magazine® in their Best of Tech·Ed 2008 Awards.
The Best of Tech·Ed Awards recognized K2 blackpearl for its innovative platform that allows people to build process-driven applications in and around Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0.— without code and without complexity.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled,” said K2’s Adriaan Van Wyk, CEO. “The competition in the SharePoint field is always strong, and there’s no shortage of great software that works with SharePoint.
“With K2 blackpearl — and our new, low-cost K2 blackpoint™ software (
http://blackpoint.k2.com) — we know our technology can open new worlds of simplicity and business efficiency for SharePoint users. We were proud to be named a finalist in this contest, and it’s an honor that Penton named our product the best in the field.”
Visual tools in K2 blackpearl make it easy for anyone to assemble reusable objects into applications that use workflow and line-of-business information. K2 applications are simple to create and flexible so they can be easily modified to keep up with an ever-evolving organization.
K2 blackpearl offers an intuitive design canvas that is surfaced in SharePoint, and users can quickly assemble process-driven applications that can span documents, tasks, lists, sites and organizations. It can all be done without leaving SharePoint and without code. K2 blackpoint is a subset of K2 blackpearl features and tools. It provides an Office-style designer and will soon provide a Silverlight-based designer, making K2 software the first to offer both thick- and thin-client tools for building solutions in SharePoint.
