K2 blackpearl a finalist for DM Awards 'Workflow/BPM Product of the Year'

) was named a 2012 DM Awards finalist in the “Workflow/BPM Product of the Year” category. It was the winner in this category last year.
The Document Manager Awards (DM Awards) recognise outstanding products and services at an annual awards ceremony that showcases forerunners in their respective categories. Winners are chosen by the community and votes are cast on the DM Awards website.
K2 blackpearl is workflow and business process management (BPM) software for automating business processes and synchronising information across organisations, and it allows customers to use visual tools to build applications.
Recently, K2 released K2 smartforms, adding forms and data to its already strong process heritage. It allows customers to drag and drop components into place and tie these forms to their workflow processes.
"The big difference that K2 smartforms will make for us is that creating the interface will be a totally drag-and-drop process,” said Wouter Faber, systems integration and technology manager, resources operating group, Accenture. “Currently, about 80 percent of development on a workflow application is spent creating the user interface. Smartforms will help us significantly reduce that time."
Dennis Parker, vice president, K2 Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), added: “We are looking forward to officially launching K2 smartforms in the EMEA region Oct. 9., where we will show how this product is at least eight times faster than ASP.NET.”
Earlier this year, K2 was named “Best SharePoint Development Product” at the Microsoft Tech-Ed Awards.
