K2 4.5 supports Microsoft Silverlight 4
Tuesday, April 13, 2010
REDMOND, Washington — Software maker K2 announced its workflow and business process management (BPM) products now support Microsoft Silverlight 4.
Specifically, K2 provides the Silverlight-based K2 Designer for SharePoint, which gives organizations an easy way to create document-centric and list-based workflow applications from a familiar browser-based SharePoint environment. This process designer is a feature-packed, drag-and-drop canvas included in K2 blackpearl and K2 blackpoint software.
“Microsoft is pleased that software maker K2 has invested early in supporting Silverlight and the next-generation application development platform,” said Brian Goldfarb, director of the developer platform group at Microsoft Corp. “It’s companies like K2 that help developers use their existing skills to create unique experiences that run across many and varied devices.”
K2 software is built on the Microsoft .NET Framework and helps customers get the most from their existing investments in Microsoft software infrastructure — including Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, Microsoft Office InfoPath, Microsoft Office Visio, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Office Communications Server. The K2 platform provides visual tools to automate simple business processes, like document approval, employee onboarding or inventory control. And it allows people to pull together multiple processes into a single, sophisticated system that can streamline the entire organization. In many cases, K2 workflow and application building requires no coding.
