New K2 blackpoint™ trial available, hosted or as download

REDMOND, Washington — K2® is offering a new 60-day free trial of K2 blackpoint™, available in a K2-hosted online environment or as downloadable evaluation software.

“We are extremely proud of our new K2 blackpoint software and feel strongly that if we give people a chance to play with it, they will fall in love with it,” said K2 CEO Adriaan van Wyk.

Starting at just $5,000 (US), K2 blackpoint allows non-developers to quickly build workflow solutions and process-driven applications — with no code and no complexity — within Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0.

Workflows and applications can be set up to span libraries, sites, InfoPath forms, server farms and organizations; manage approvals; and route documents and list items. Then users can assemble new applications from information that already exists and workflows that have already been built.

During the 60-day trial period, users can connect to the hosted environment as many times as they like. All work will be saved until the evaluation period ends.

“We’re also including some really good solution walkthroughs — in both the hosted environment and in the download — to help users make their way through the K2 blackpoint software and to get a good understanding of its capabilities,” said K2’s Chris Geier, community development manager.

“SharePoint is the fastest growing product in Microsoft’s history — and for good reason,” Geier said. “K2 blackpoint drastically simplifies the process of building SharePoint workflows and applications and empowers a very broad user base to contribute to the creation process.”
