The Waverley Borough Council decided to replace its Lotus Notes document management system with Microsoft SharePoint, but found the new platform couldn’t deliver the functionality they needed out-of-the-box.
One of the council’s most important K2-based workflows supports their administration of Careline, an emergency alarm service for elderly and vulnerable people who live alone. Without K2’s blackpearl, the council would have had to hire a developer to create it. The council now has 10 main K2 processes and around 20 smaller ones, and spends less time on administrative duties — allowing employees to work more productively.
Benefits: The council estimates they have avoided capital expenditure of tens of thousands of pounds while delivering a high-quality service that helps saves lives.
