Sr Infrastructure Engineer

As the Sr Infrastructure Engineer you are responsible for managing the day to day operations, stability and performance of the network. You work with the Network Engineer and VP of IT to support and build IT strategy, areas of IT investment and overall design of corporate network.

What you’ll be doing as a member of our team:
  • Work with the K2 IT development and infrastructure teams to analyze new and existing project requests and potential impacts to existing network.
  • Understand system architecture, and review how connectivity between these systems are defined and shortcomings that may exist
  • Help investigate 3rd party data / systems we purchase for the business
  • Contribute to the effective data governance of K2’s business data.  This includes, but is not limited to data quality, data management, data policies, business process management, risk management as well as security considerations surrounding the handling of K2 business data
  • Work with the K2 Security Manager to understand security considerations, policies and procedures, and ensuring these are prioritized appropriately across all projects
  • Monitor network activity and availability and ensure KPIs are tracked and met
  • Identify, review and act on newly identified issues based on priorities, changes in business strategy or unforeseen factors
  • Develop and maintain a sound working knowledge of K2’s business, including business applications, initiatives and strategies
  • Contribute to requirements to ensure completeness and accuracy of specifications, project definitions and project timelines
  • Advise business owners on the best practice, changes in requirements and scope, and able to suggest enhancements or alternatives
  • Communicate solutions and follow processes to keep business owners up to date on network issues or risks
  • Manage own workload and work with relevant colleagues and customers to prioritize enhancements
  • Identify, review and prioritize security considerations for all processes
  • Suggest and deliver new projects and system improvements to improve the existing infrastructure
  • Work with the rest of the IT team and fully support them in their roles


What you’ll bring to the table:
  • 5+ years' experience supporting and maintaining a global networks based on Microsoft technologies
  • 3+ years’ experience with MS Azure (AAD, ADFS, AAD Connect, IaaS, Networking, Security)
  • 3+ years’ experience with MS Server Technologies, including MS Exchange, IIS, SQL Server, Windows Server and Windows 10
  • Extensive experience in supporting complex business systems and applications
  • Experience working with customers at all levels of business
Additional qualifications:
  • A solid conceptual understanding of general technical infrastructure architecture in the enterprise space.
  • Recent hands on experience in building servers, connecting storage devices and networking
  • Recent hands on experience in network design and implementation
  • Administrative preferred experience: Windows and Windows Server, Virtualization, Public/private cloud, Active Directory, MS Office/O365/Skype for Business, SharePoint
  • Site to Site connectivity using WAN Optimization technologies;  Silverpeak preferred.
  • MS Azure technology focus.  AzureAD, ADFS, Hybrid Exchange deployment, Security Center and related security offerings.
  • Virtualization using MS Hyper-V, including clustering, automation and self-service VM creation.
  • WLAN Implementations and Management
  • Datacenter management, maintenance and migrations
  • Server Patch management strategies and implementations in a 24/7 365 Production environment
  • Administrative preferred experience: Windows and Windows Server, Virtualization, Public/private cloud, Active Directory, MS Office/O365/Skype for Business, SharePoint, Basic networking
