Software Engineer

At K2, the Install Team is traditionally responsible for providing a platform for the K2 software suite to be deployed to customer environments. With the transition of the K2 engineering team to a more agile development methodology, combined with the evolution of the product to the PaaS space, the Install Team has also evolved into a multi-skilled development squad that combines service delivery to the rest of the K2 engineering team, with research and development of new technologies to enable K2 to be deployed in a cloud environment.

As a Software Engineer in the Install Team you will build your own creative engineering solutions for deploying the K2 stack in the cloud. Much of our software development focuses on optimizing and extending existing code, building infrastructure and eliminating work through automation. We use a breadth of tools and approaches to solve a broad spectrum of problems.

What you’ll be doing as a member of our team:
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
  • Maintain architectural integrity of existing code base.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams and roles
  • Assist and enable feature teams to use installer tooling effectively
  • Participate in debugging and investigation of issues escalated by support team.
  • Update job knowledge by studying state of the art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment, participating in educational opportunities, read professional publications.
  • Any adhoc duty that may be assigned to you from time to time.


What you’ll bring to the table:
  • IT related degree or equivalent education.
  • Working experience in a software development environment.
  • .Net framework knowledge and experience.
  • Experience in C#, PowerShell
  • MS SQL Server or related database system experience.
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.
Additional qualifications:
  • BSc degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving systems engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years’ software development experience.
  • Experience in source control technologies including TFS and Git.
  • Expertise in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
  • Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
  • Exposure to Office365, Azure, MS SharePoint, MS CRM, Docker
