General Counsel

The General Counsel will support K2’s global sales, professional services, channels and IT organizations in negotiating the company’s commercial agreements.

What you’ll be doing as a member of our team:

  • Review, negotiate and draft a variety of agreements including, but not limited to, master license agreements for SaaS and on-premise software, professional services agreements, channel agreements, and vendor contracts
  • Advise internal clients on contract interpretation, IP ownership and other legal risks
  • Draft standard template language to be used in contracts
  • Offer counsel on a variety of legal issues and support the continuous improvement of form agreements
  • Research and anticipate unique legal issues that could impact the company
  • Supervise outside counsel in copyright, trademark and patent matters
  • Engage with outside counsel to effectively resolve outstanding liability issues
  • Assist in the review of marketing materials and public announcements
  • Provide training to internal clients on legal topics


What you’ll bring to the table:

  • JD from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one state bar
  • At least 5 full years of attorney experience at a national law firm and/or in house legal department
  • Highly responsive and service oriented attitude
  • Practical business judgment
  • Experience supporting a sales organization 
  • Experience advising on technology transactions, IP issues and licensing
  • In-house legal experience at a SaaS company is a plus
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire
