Director, Financial Planning and Analysis

Duties

K2 is seeking a results-driven financial professional to lead the company’s FP&A function globally. In this hands-on and impactful role, the Director, FP&A will lead the development of robust planning models and financial plans, and report on core financial metrics. They will also identify and monitor significant business trends while developing analytically informed perspectives on strategic business issues. The Director, FP&A will need to possess the right mix of leadership and financial management skills while maintaining financial reporting accuracy. 

The ideal candidate is someone who has a deep understanding of P&L components in a SaaS company and demonstrated experience with common SaaS metrics. 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with functional leaders to create operating budgets and forecasts
  • Lead the monthly P&L review process by reviewing actual results versus plan, preparing monthly variance reports for functional leaders, and analyzing key performance drivers
  • Assess the financial impact of business decisions in partnership with functional leaders that incorporate current business trends and strategies
  • Identify key metrics and build exec-facing dashboards to track progress of the business and its highest priority initiatives
  • Prepares financial modeling for new business development, cost saving projects, capital expenditure evaluation, competitive analyses, and customer/product profitability
  • Create ad-hoc analyses and forecasts as needed during key periods to provide insights into areas of risk and opportunity and influence business strategies
  • Consolidate and report results to Executive leadership team
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly presentations for the Board of Directors
  • Facilitate company reporting requests 
  • Develop and maintain cross-functional relationships with key business partners to ensure alignment on strategies to maximize financial results
  • Lead and coach the finance team
  • Provide counsel to internal clients and business leaders on finance related topics
  • Partner with broader Finance team on budget to actual reporting 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; B.A. in business administration, economics, finance or mathematics
  • 7-years minimum progressive global finance experience  
  • 5-years minimum experience in advanced financial analysis, including modeling, forecasting and trend analysis
  • 5-years minimum experience in a SaaS company
  • 3-years minimum experience leading a finance team
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights and NetSuite
  • Experience in a global finance department
  • Experience working with sales productivity metrics and revenue capacity planning
  • Strong communication & analytical skills; experience presenting to C-level or equivalent leadership
  • Highly responsive and service-oriented attitude
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with a Board of Directors
  • Experience working with private equity firm(s)
  • Experience with Salesforce.com
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and negotiation skills with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical, writing, and client interaction skills
