Hi there, I’m back again to highlight some more product news — this time around K2 smartforms. Today we announced the release of K2 smartforms 1.0.2. It’s available to all K2 smartforms customers on the K2 Partner and Customer Portal.
This update includes performance and stability improvements and some new enhancements and features that I would like to highlight.
First up are some enhancements to our workflow integration capabilities that make it even easier to integrate your SmartForms with workflow. A new item reference for your Forms is now available in the context browser and gives you quick access to your Form fields across all the steps in your Workflow. Build forms even faster.
Next up are several enhancements we’ve made to rules and parameters, giving you more options to control your Form at runtime. We’ve added the ability to get and set values in parameters and controls, as well as the ability to execute methods on controls using runtime rules. These new capabilities provide you with the ability to support complex form scenarios that were not possible in previous versions of K2 smartforms. More power behind your forms.
We’ve also made work easier and more intuitive for end users. In this release, there are two additional controls that offer some great capabilities. The Save to PDF control allows you to save a Form as a PDF document for reuse in other Forms, within Workflows or as a standalone document. We’ve had several customers talk to us about saving a snapshot of a Form for archival or audit purposes, and this control is an easy way to accomplish that. We’ve also added a content control, similar to an iFrame, which allows you to display another Form or website within a Form. This control opens up lots of options to build Forms that give your users exactly what they need to make decisions quickly.
Last, but certainly not least, are several customization options we’ve added to make it easier to style your Forms so they look the way you want them to. We’ve added a SharePoint 2013-based theme option, support for custom fonts and improved usability on many of the controls, making it easier to resize and place them where you want on the Form.
These are just a few of the highlights from the 1.0.2 release, so if you’d like to get the full list of enhancements, take a look at the release notes. As always, if you’re an existing K2 smartforms customer, we highly recommend planning some time to update your environment so you have access to these great new features. And, if you’re not already a K2 smartforms customer, make sure you contact us so we can show you how Forms can help you transform your business.
