K2 and Microsoft Partnership
|
 |
|
K2 has a long-standing history of deep partnership with Microsoft, going back more than 10 years. In addition to being a Tier 1 Managed Independent Software Vendor Partner, K2 is also a founding member of the Microsoft Business Process Alliance and participates formally on a number of Microsoft Technology Advisory boards and Partner Advisory Councils. Unlike many other competitors whose integration with Microsoft is often curosry, K2 prides itself on its depth and breadth of leveraging the Microsoft technology stack.
This depth of integration is a major differentiator for us and benefits customers in three areas:
- Leverage investments already made in Microsoft - customers can get more value out of their investments with K2 and leverage existing skills for both IT and end-users.
- Time-to-market - because of the rich declarative design and modeling environment, creating enterprise-class composite business appplications is much easier with K2. In addition, application lifecycle management is also simplified in terms of process changes and in the way K2 leverages Microsoft's application lifecycle management capabilities in Visual Studio 2010.
- Range of solutions that can be deployed - Few customers buy K2 just because of the first solution they deploy. K2 is broadly deployed across a wide range of customer solutions, accelerating customer adoption and demonstrating extended ROI of a wide range of Microsoft technologies.
Here is a high-level graphic covering the breadth of integration offered by K2 today.

To demonstrate the depth of integration we offer, take a look at our K2 and SharePoint page.
K2 maintains strong relationships with various product teams. Here is what some of them have to say:
- "K2 has always added great value for Microsoft customers deploying solutions across SharePoint Server technologies. K2's integration with SharePoint Server 2010 empowers a very broad user base to create rich workflows and process-driven applications in SharePoint 2010 - without writing code." - Jeff Teper, Corporate vice president, Office Business Platform, Microsoft Corp. - 2010
- "Products like K2 for Visual Studio 2010 help customers to simplify their development process from design to deployment when using Microsooft products like Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4." - Eddie Amos, then GM developer platform and tools - 2010
- "It's companies like K2 that help developers use their existing skills to create unique Silverlight-based expieriences that run across many and varied devices." - Brian Goldfarb, director of the developer platform group - 2010
In addition to the technology investments we make, there are many programs to which we subscribe. K2 is involved in a minimum of 2-3 TAP (Technology Adoption Programs) at any one time, and are involved in many developer and strategy workshops with Microsoft product architects across more than 20 engineering groups on the Redmond campus. Our involvement is focused on three primary outcomes:
- Ensuring our products leverage the next generation of Microsoft products and technologies in the best way possible to maximize customer and partner investments in their K2-based solutions.
- Providing our customers longevity in their K2 investments because we understand Microsoft's plans ahead of any TAP/beta program and typically at or before the first early development milestone.
- Providing valuable real-world feedback to Microsoft early enough to influence change as appropriate. K2 engineers and architects have successfully influenced the development of key capabilities across many Microsoft technologies.
